
Maria Antonella Muraro
Dr. Maria Antonella Muraro is a pediatric allergist graduated from the Medical School of the Padua University in 1981. In 1985 she was board certified as a pediatrician and in 1988 as allergist and clinical immunologist at the University of Padua. In 1992 she obtained her PhD from the University of Rome.
From 1989 she has worked as a pediatric allergist at the Department of Pediatrics - University of Padua. From November 1985 to February 1986 she worked as a pediatric allergist in the Department of Pediatrics University of Rome. In October 1992 she was visiting Professor at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of Immunology, Georgetown University - Washington DC - USA (Directed by Prof. Bellanti). From 2005 she has been Head of the Referral Centre for Food Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment at the Department of Pediatrics - Padua General University Hospital.
From 2003 to 2005 she was a member of the board of the Italian Society for Pediatric Allergy and of the committee for Food Allergy, Atopic Dermatitis and Anaphylaxis.
Dr. Muraro is currently Chairman of the Board of the Section on Pediatrics of European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
She was the Italian Coordinator of the EAACI 2003 Campaign on "Early diagnosis of allergy in children" and she is currently Chairman of the EAACI Task Force on Anaphylaxis in children and of the EAACI Task Force on Allergy in School.
She is also a member of the American College for Allergy Asthma and Clinical Immunology (ACAAI), Italian Society of Pediatrics, Italian Society for Pediatric Respiratory diseases, Italian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
She has published more than 50 papers in the field of food allergy and atopic dermatitis.
